All of the newer openers that have been manufactured within the last few years are on the 315 MHZ frequency to get away from radio interference that was caused by US military radio communication equipment. These include any of the Security+ (rolling code) garage door openers manufactured by Chamberlain regardless of the brand name on the unit that has a purple antenna on the motor head instead of the gray one that they had used for many years.
These openers that also came with a multi-function wall control panel instead of the single door bell type button and a multi-button transmitter also has the capability of turning the garage door opener lights on and off after the door is fully opened or closed
Programing Steps:
1) Starting with the door closed, press and hold the transmitter button that you want to use to control the lights. Use a different button from what you use to open and close the door.
2) Press and hold the Light Button (light bulb symbol) on the multi-function control panel while continuing to hold the transmitter button.
3) Press and hold the Lock Button (padlock symbol) on the multi-function control panel while continuing to hold the other two button from above .
4) Once the opener lights flash, release all buttons and the programming should be complete.
Test the lights by pressing the remote transmitter button that you chose. The opener lights should turn off if they were already on or should turn on if they were already off. Your done!!!
